Helen Reimer

Helen is the Director of Business Development at Fairtrade Canada and holds the position of Chair on Tearfund Canada’s board. Before taking her current position at Fairtrade, she was the Founding Executive Director of Christians Against Poverty in Canada. 

Arden Gustafson

Arden is a Director on Tearfund Canada’s Board and serves as lead Pastor of Norquay Evangelical Covenant Church in Saskatchewan. Formerly, he was a Board Member of Paul Carlson Partnership as well as Covenant Bible College. Arden is a proud farmer, volunteer firefighter, husband and father. 

Dale Barkman

Dale is the Secretary/Treasurer for Tearfund Canada. He holds the FCPA , FCA designation – the highest distinction bestowed upon a CPA within the accounting profession. He is currently retired after 33 years as a public practice accountant. Previously, Dale served as a Board member of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities, chaired the Institute of Chartered Accountants BC’s Bylaws and Fee Resolution committees, and is a past member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Ethics Standards Harmonization Committee.  Dale seves on several other non-profit Boards.

Reinnie Brandt

Reinnie is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a director of Tearfund Canada. He is currently a Partner at Blue River Group Chartered Professional Accountants LLP. Reinnie currently serves as Treasurer at enVision Community Living and was a former Treasurer at Abundance Canada.

Maher Nessim

Maher is a soon-to-be-retired professional engineer with 40 years of experience in consulting and research. Born and raised in Egypt, Maher moved to Canada in 1979. He has a BSc from Cairo University and a PhD from the University of Calgary. 

Maher has worked for the same not-for-profit company for the last 32 years, where he held senior management positions including President and CEO. He has been involved in pipeline standard development, published many research papers, and lectured widely on pipeline risk management. He is a member of the Canadian Standard Association and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. 

Maher is a member of Ellerslie Road Baptist Church where he served for many years as a Sunday school and ESL teacher. He is married with three married children and two grandchildren.

Lyle Kozloff

Lyle Kozloff serves as a Director on Tearfund Canada’s Board. He and his family live and volunteer as resident assistants at New Hope, a non-profit that provides housing and support services for refugee families as they transition into life in Canada in Surrey BC. He has also worked for several non-profit organizations in overseas locations including Benin, Japan, and Cambodia. Lyle enjoys technology and helping, which are assets in his day job managing a technical support team for a software company.
