Interns and Students

Poverty is Not God’s Plan. You are!

By joining Tearfund, you will be part of a fast-paced, exciting team that is passionate about ending poverty in the name of Christ. You will gain valuable career experience as part of the Tearfund Family – a top tier Christian international relief and development charity that collectively works in over 50 countries around the world. You will be part of a culture that sees its work as worship as it follows Jesus where the need is greatest.

Details

Internships and summer students run over a period of 8 to 16 weeks and may be paid or unpaid depending on department needs and budgets during the time of application. There are several opportunities throughout the year, but final placements are highly competitive – so we encourage you to check back often and apply early. We are always looking for a wide-range of expertise across different fields such as: marketing, fundraising, digital media, technology, video, storytelling, accounting, event planning, and more.

Deepen Your Experience

Internships are serious business at Tearfund—you won’t be getting coffee or filling in spreadsheets here! (OK, you might be… but you’ll also be doing much more).

Interns at Tearfund are challenged to think beyond surface level tasks and ask how they actually can achieve strategic objectives. You will typically be given 1-3 projects in which you are expected to think critically, come up with new ideas, and execute brilliantly.

Some days you’ll work long hours. But we’re passionate about the cause. The pay-off will be huge as you will gain valuable experience that will be useful throughout your career.

Grow Your Faith

As a group of passionate Christians we see every part of our work as worship. During your internship you will be involved in weekly devotionals and regular prayer. We hope your faith will grow as you see and interact with our church partners around the world. You will be challenged to see normal business functions as ministry as you conduct your daily work.

How to Apply

Read through the positions and apply as indicated. If there are no opportunities, or none that you feel are for you, you can submit a general application to hr@tearfund.ca.

Your application will be evaluated and you will be contacted to do an initial screening interview to learn more about you and to discuss the current opportunities we have.

If you progress through the screening phase, you will be invited to one or two in-person interviews.

Congratulations, you’ve made it through. Discussion will take place on formal dates, pay, and other details.
