While you are here, will you consider helping to feed families in dire need?
Susan wonders if the world has forgotten about them.
When civil war erupted in Sudan in 2023, Susan and her family sought refuge in neighbouring South Sudan with her husband and children. They now live in a refugee camp with thousands of others—with very little food, water or medicine. Last year, Susan’s eldest son, 7-years-old, died from Hemophilia A. She feels utterly hopeless that things will change.
“They keep telling me that ‘you have to wait.’ But we have been waiting on this issue. It is hopeless.” – Susan

Countries in Dire Need
South Sudan: 1 in 2 people face crisis-level hunger due to extreme flooding, drought, and displacement. Over 1 million Sudanese refugees have entered the country seeking refuge from the civil war in neighbouring Sudan.
DR Congo: Rebel groups have wreaked havoc in the Eastern DRC, capturing the key city of Goma. Over 400,000 people have been displaced, food prices in the market have soared, and basic services are non-existent.
Ethiopia (Tigray): The civil war that lasted from 2020 to 2022 resulted in thousands of deaths, mass displacement and widespread trauma. Today, many residents have returned to their homes and farms only to find them burned and destroyed.
You can help rush food to families
Extreme hunger around the world is soaring to record highs, driven by soaring food prices, conflict, and extreme climate events.
Tearfund Canada is working in three countries where hunger is highest—South Sudan, the DR Congo, and Ethiopia—to help feed families and provide hope to those in urgent need.
Your donation today will help provide emergency food to the MOST VULNERABLE—orphans, widows, young mothers with children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
Specifically, your donation will provide families with:
- Emergency food rations of grain, beans, cooking oil and salt
- Farming supplies such as crop seeds and handheld tools
- Farming training to help families recover and become self-sustainable
The hands and feet of Jesus.
In the midst of this brokenness, we know that Jesus is always moving. Working alongside our church-based partners, your generosity provides much more than just food. It provides hope to families that there are people who care for them and a God who loves them.
Please donate today and help feed suffering families.
