Florence is grateful for the Tearfund program in her village.
She has recently joined a local Village Savings and Loan Association. The weekly meetings and watching her savings grow, give her a chance to dream again.
One of her dreams is to have two full meals a day. As she watches her savings grow, she is planning to buy guinea pigs. A great source of protein, guinea pigs multiply quickly and provide another source of income.
Every day Florence sees the impact of the program, and nothing brings her more joy than witnessing the difference it’s already making in her grandson’s life. Before joining the church program, he was discouraged and without direction. He fell into the wrong crowd. Addicted to alcohol and drugs, he made little effort to change.
But then he joined the church program. He saw the results and, for the first time, saw a future in his community. He applied the new conservation methods of agriculture to grow vegetables and potatoes. The change has been dramatic! Today, he is married and providing for his family. Florence thanks God for you. You’re not only helping her get back on her feet; you’ve helped transform her grandson’s life!
