How much of my gift goes to programs?
Your generosity goes where it matters most. In 2024, 87% of every dollar went directly to programs and emergency aid that lift families out of poverty. Just 3% covers administration (things like rent, security, and donor database), and 10% supports fundraising so we can reach even more people. If a specific program becomes fully funded or completed, your gift will be used where it’s needed most to serve families in poverty through the local church.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes! Tearfund Canada is a registered Canadian charity. All eligible donations will receive an official tax receipt that you can use when filing your Canadian income taxes. Our charitable registration number is: 10822 2191 RR0001
Can I specify where my donation goes?
Yes. You may designate your gift to a specific program or project. If that program is fully funded or cannot be carried out for any reason, your gift will be redirected to where it is most needed, always in keeping with Tearfund’s mission to see lives and communities transformed.
