Millions have been devastated by one of the largest Cyclones to ever form in Bay of Bengal.

“This is more than a national disaster. I have not seen such devastation in my life.”
– Chief Minister of Bengal State, India
Cyclone Amphan 1

On May 20, Cyclone Amphan ripped into India and Bangladesh. As the largest storm in decades, there aren’t any words to describe the level of destruction.

Already devastated by COVID-19 and associated lockdowns, over 200,000 farmers now face the reality that salt water has killed their crops. The flood water has destroyed their homes and has washed away all their belongings.

Thousands are cramped in relief centres where it is impossible to maintain social distancing practices. People are fearful and anxious about contracting Coronavirus, but they have little choice.

Without food to eat, these families will die.

But the situation is not hopeless.

Wherever there is pain and suffering, we know that Christ is already there to pour out his love, comfort and restoration.

Your donation today will help our church partners in India provide urgently needed food baskets to 10,000 families whose lives have been devastated by Cyclone Amphan. Relief efforts will be focused on The South 24 Paraganas district – a district right along the sea where the damage has been most severe.

We need your donation to provide food these people. Your gift will provide a family a food basket filled with rice, flour, pulses, cooking oil, salt, and spices – to help them survive until they can rebuild.
